Group Objective:
The High Speed Device Group at UCSD, under the direction of Prof. Peter Asbeck, explores the fabrication and application of high speed transistors and circuits.
One of the group efforts is to identify and apply new technology opportunities - such as advanced materials or fabrication technologies - to device improvement. This is coupled with associated characterization and modeling activities.
Another effort is to identify new system applications for high speed devices, coupled with associated circuit design and characterization activities.
Current group projects have a strong emphasis on III-V based transistors and on microwave circuits, particularly power amplifiers.
